BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN COUNSELLING PSYCHOTHERAPY
Bachelor of Science in Counselling Psychotherapy will equip graduates with specialised psychotherapy skills to provide:
- Diagnosis of psycho-social issues
- Career counselling
- Case management
- Stress management
- Treatment and professional guidance for oppressive psychosocial issues such as grief, depression and relational anxieties.
Trainees of this qualification will use individual and group therapy skills which were identified as critical amongst many in the needs assessment. This is needed to broaden specialized treatment approaches and to avail professional guidance for oppressive psychosocial issues such as grief, depression and relational anxieties. These unique skills and competencies are needed as a human resource development strategy irrespective of the career one may be pursuing because psychosocial trauma and familial chaos are experienced by all at home and in the work place. The unique nature of this specialization will not only open doors for graduate holders given the level of depth and breadth it has in content and practical application, but will also upgrade position holders to competently handle corresponding managerial and case management responsibilities.

BACHELOR OF EDUCATION GUIDANCE AND COUNSELLING
The purpose of this programme is to train undergraduates in the area of guidance and counselling for school and other organizations. Trainees of this qualification will be equipped with skills and expertise to execute their duties and counsellors in schools under Ministry of Education and other non-governmental organizations.
Upon Successful completion of this qualification, the following are potential work areas:

BACHELOR OF ARTS IN REHABILITATION COUNSELLING
In most of the training qualifications, Rehabilitation Counselling is offered as a modular course and few if any are offering it as a counselling specialization. The purpose for this qualification then is unique in value addition in the way it is targeting a vulnerable and yet major group whose needs are highly specialized. The qualification is desirable not only in empowering service providers with desirable skills and competencies but also in upgrading graduate holders into higher level positions to rise in meeting corresponding demands for emerging responsibilities.
The programme is BQA accredited and has been developed to equip learners with a solid foundation in rehabilitation counselling. The psychotherapeutic competencies enable learners to balance theory with practice and instils confidence to work with people living with disabilities to benefit self and others. This is because people living with disabilities experience complex and diverse challenges hence they need support with personal, psychological, social, spiritual and other dimensions of human life. This programme empowers with professional competencies leading to adjustment with quality independent lives. After successful completion, one qualifies to work with but is not limited to individuals and communities with physical, social and emotional disabilities. This includes physical therapy clinics, rehabilitation centers, detention centers and schools that cater for mental health needs of leaners with disabilities.

CERTIFICATE IN COUNSELLING
This qualification is a level one entry into professional counselling which offers trainee mental health service providers and allied roles with the basic knowledge, skills and competencies underpinning counselling. An emphasis is in introducing counselling through learner-centered and experimental techniques while providing an opportunity to explore a variety of counselling subjects.
This qualification is for:
- Those starting the first level of training as professional counsellors.
- Those who want to learn and apply counselling skills in other professions such as
- industrial roles, police, NGO, Kgotla, military e.t.c
- Those who want to improve their professional and personal relationships as part of personal development.
